Sneakersnstuff in Herzogenaurach - Day 2

Day 2 started out with a very nice field trip. Patrik, Niclas, Måns and Kalle from adidas Orignals Nordic joined us for a guided tour at the legendary adidas factory in Scheinfeld that is located on Adi Dassler Strasse! Scheinfeld is truly a wet dream for any sneaker lover. As most of you know not many adidas products are manufactured in Germany anymore but the Scheinfeld factory still manufacture M2M. M2M is short for Made to Measure (ping Sherlock). This is where adidas athletes and people with special needs gets their shoes handmade. We were not allowed to take any pictures from the actual production line. But we can tell you that we saw some rare stuff for people like Messi, Beckham and Madonna.

Some more interesting facts are that the Made to Measure department manufacture about 15 pairs a day and apparently David Beckham gets about 70 custom made pairs per year. One of the all time greatest in the game of football, Der Kaiser aka Franz Beckenbauer got about 7 pairs per year during his career. Scheinfeld is where adidas manufacture the iconic Copa Mundial, the World Cup and the Kaiser 5. They manufactures 3000 pairs per day. As if that wasn't enough we managed to sneak upstairs to the adidas Museum, or what's left of it cause they're about to move it to a new location. But we did see some serious stuff like Mr Dassler's original conference table.

Happy as few Kalle and the gang took us to the city of Herzogenaurach and the adidas World Headquarters or World of Sports as they actually call it. It's located at the old Herzo air base and can you guess the name of the street? Yeah - it's Adi Dassler Strasse of course! The rest of the day we looked at upcoming products for Spring/Summer 2012. We can't show you any pics yet but we can telll you that 2012 might be the best year ever for lovers of adidas Originals.

Reebok is part of the adidas Group since a few years back. We ended the day at World of Sports by visiting the Reebok building. Sausage of the day was Nürnbergers - such an awsome sausage! If you haven't tried one yet, you're missing out. Next year you can expect some good stuff coming from the Reebok guys but of course we can't tell you more about that right now.

Thanks for a great day!

Sneakersnstuff Staff Backyard Burger Bonanza

Last summer at Berlin Bread & Butter, Sneakersnstuff were invited to the Converse Backyard Burger Battle. We competed against Patta and Wood Wood, and of course we brought the house down. We also brought the cops down 6 times when we took over the DJ-booth, and rounded it up with some street-cheesing. That was a classic party.
In preparation for this summer Bread & Butter adventure we figured a nice bbq would do the trick. So, all SNS Staff and their families were invited. Sadly, some people could not make it, but to all that showed up in my backyard - cheers! I had a great time. Let's do it again soon.

SNS Malmö - we will have to treat you for something similar soon too.

Erik

3 questions with Skinny Digital

The artist behind the illustration on the Sneakersnstuff x A Non Smoking Generation t-shirt is Skinny Digital. In the illustration you can see the whole crew that works on Sneakersnstuff (and of course some other local people that you might recognise?). Please read the very short interview we did with Skinny and also look at the pictures of the first sketches of the print.

For those who don't know you - can we have a small introduction of Skinny Digital?
I'm a illustrator based out of Solna Sweden who loves old maps, flags, toys, carpentry, drifter sthlm, nature, furniture, and random strange stuff.

How was it to work with Sneakersnstuff and A Non Smoking Generation on this project?
It was really fun to do this, and when its for a good cause to its even better. We worked out a really good concept that I think looks great. I mean we didn't just do the print we sat down and talked about all the details that needed to be done and followed up the process of everything.

I know you've spent a lot of time doing this illustration. Which person from the staff was the hardest to illustrate?
Yes, the drawing part was one thing. The other one was all the thinking and planing before the drawing could start. The hardest part must have been to fit everyone in the picture, especially Andreas cause he is so tall!
