Sneakersnstuff x Reebok The Pump ”Blacklights”

In 2009, we were honored to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Reebok The Pump. Reebok flew us in to Boston, where we teamed up with what later became the original Certified Network and worked out our tribute for the Pump 20th Anniversary. How time flies. Here we are 5 years later, and still very proud and honored to be part of the Pump 25th year anniversary.



The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok The Pump is inspired by classic blacklight posters. Blacklight posters are printed in fluorescent colors that really pops out when you flashed a black light at them. On an original blacklight poster the black color is printed in flock that gives a smooth velvet feeling. So we went to our friend, the very talented artist Mander (Martin Ander), and asked if he could illustrate a poster inspired by old posters like that for us. As always, he delivered!



The upper of the Sneakersnstuff x Reebok The Pump is made of perforated suede, to give that velvety feeling and it is backed up by neon colors, making the shoe shift just a little bit in different nuances when you move them around. Subtle SNS branding on the heel, and footbeds printed with the artwork that Mander made for the poster. Hints of neon under the outsole, and besides the black laces that they come with we have two more sets of laces included in the pack.



For the release we have produced a fluorescent 7 color screenprinted original poster, each and every one of them signed by Mander. The poster will be given away to everyone that buys the shoes instore in Stockholm and London.

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Shaqnosis OG ”Tribute”

The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Shaqnosis OG is a tribute to the greatest basketball player ever to be signed by Reebok. Shaquille O’Neal played for 6 different teams during his great career, so we decided to put a touch of every one of those teams onto this Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Shaqnosis OG.

Starting with the blue smooth leather in the bottom, of course representing the team that made Shaq the first round pick (not Christian Laettner, not Alonzo Mourning): Orlando Magic. The golden yellow suede stripe represents Shaq’s successful years in Los Angeles Lakers, followed by smooth black leather representing the second team Shaq won a title with: Miami Heat. Purple suede for the big Shaqtus years in Phoenix, followed by maroon smooth leather for his year alongside LeBron James in Cleveland. Last but not least a green suede to represent the team where he finished his great career: the Boston Celtics. Based on white with details in gold for the 4 rings that he earned in his 19 years in the NBA.

The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Shaqnosis OG ”Tribute” drops December 18th in limited numbers in store and online.



This also marks the end of the 2013 Sneakersnstuff x Reebok project. Over the year we have been blessed to drop 12 collaborations together with Reebok, one for each month. We are extremely happy with the outcome. But we don’t really want to call this the end of anything, but rather the start of something. Look out for new Sneakersnstuff x Reebok projects to drop in 2014.

Tribute to Shaq

2013 is coming to an end and we are looking back on our Sneakersnstuff x Reebok project and slowly realising that we actually did it. We wanted to release one shoe every month, all with different inspirations and design themes. We are very happy about the outcome and would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at Reebok that has been involved for all the support over the year.

But we still have one final drop to announce. And we would like to think that we saved the best for last. Shaquille O'neal is the greatest basketball player ever signed by Reebok. And even though he might not have been signed by Reebok throughout his career, no other player ever signed by Reebok has more rings to show for it.

So we wanted to dedicate our last drop of 2013 as a Tribute to Shaq. And of course we want to give him a pair of the shoes that we have made for him, so we will travel over to USA and start searching for Shaq.

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twilight Zone Pump ”Punschrulle”

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twilight Zone Pump ”Punschrulle” is all about the traditional Swedish fika. Swedes are the world’s second largest coffee consumers, beaten only by our neighbors in Finland. And, as much as we love our coffee, we love to treat ourselves with something sweet to the coffee as well.

The green and brown Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twilight Zone Pump ”Punschrulle” is a tribute to that sugar injection that gets us through the day. It is a bit unclear who invented the Punschrulle, or Dammsugare as it is also know as, but it is believed to have been born during the World War years when sugar, butter and many other things were rationed. One of the few things that you could actually buy was smaller pieces of hard bread, and someone realized that if you crumbled those pieces of bread, poured some Punsch on it and dipped it in chocolate it made a very tasty treat. Punsch is a quite sweet and very Swedish liqueur that is based on arrack and has a pretty distinct taste to it, so the combination was a success. And when the war was over and the days of rationing had moved on, someone realized that if you covered it in green marzipan it tasted even better.

On the Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twlight Zone Pump you will find the green from the marzipan in the suede upper and also on the plastic details, and the brown from the chocolate in the leather details. We even managed to make the visible part of the ERS system in the back to match the look of a proper Punschrulle.

Speaking of ERS system. We did not only pay attention to color details when we worked on this Dominique Wilkins classic. We also took into consideration that winter is upon us. So as if the Reebok Pump blatter was not insulation enough, we also insulated it with a nice and warm Thinsulated lining making the Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twilight Zone Pump very relevant for this seasons weather.
 
The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Twilight Zone Pump ”Punschrulle” will be released November 27th at Sneakersnstuff. Online at midnight 00.00 CET and instore at 11.00 CET. We will have pairs saved for the in store release.

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Kamikaze II ”Herringbone”

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Kamikaze II Mid ”Herringbone” is something with fall in mind. We have always known Reebok as the Athlete's brand. But this time we wanted to add a bit more sophisticated look to Shawn Kemps classic basketball shoe. The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Kamikaze II ”Herringbone” has an upper in a herringbone patterned wool, tonal across the whole shoe. To that we added a bone colored leather and mid- and outsole to match. Of course we offer extra laces so you really can get it toned down. The SNS logo is embossed on the heel, and tonal Reebok vector in front. Cue falling leaves and crisp air.

The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok Kamikaze II Mid ”Herringbone” will be released October 30th at Sneakersnstuff. In store at 12.00 CET and online at 00.01 CET. We will have pairs saved for the in store release.

Release info: Packer Shoes x Reebok Question “For Players Use Only” Pack

Packer Shoes teamed up with Reebok and created the ”For Players Use Only” pack that includes two versions of the Reebok Question. The pack references to the player exclusive versions that Kobe Bryant and LeBron James used to wear back in the days.

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok NPC II Gore-Tex®

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok NPC II Gore-Tex® is our 9th installment of our yearlong collaboration project with Reebok. We wanted to work on one of the most iconic Reebok styles and Reebok Newport Classic is one of Reebok's ”Franchise Five” but has yet never been made with a Gore-Tex® upper.



As fall is upon us in Sweden we will definitely see some rain and wet weather, so adding Gore-Tex® and making this classic completely waterproof makes this one of the most wearable sneakers of the season.



Sigurd Niklas Sigurd and Niklas Petter Cesar is a nod to the Swedish phonetic alphabet. We also topped of the Gore-Tex® membrane with a Woodland camo upper and a toned downed natural midsole allows this Sneakersnstuff x Reebok NPC II Gore-Tex® to blend in everywhere.



The Sneakersnstuff x Reebok NPC II Gore-Tex® will be released September 30th at Sneakersnstuff. In store at 12.00 CET and online at 13.00 CET.
