SNS Socks - Made in Sweden

Gunnar Segerqvist was only 16 years old when he started to knit socks in his parents home in Gällstad, Sweden. He then started a company called Gunnar Segerqvist Hemstickeri and it became famous for manufacturing socks of the highest quality. Seger, as the company is called nowadays, has been at the forefront of knitting since 1947 and today they are a Royal Warrant, suppling the Royal Family of Sweden with proper socks.

Fun facts about Seger is that during the Olympics in Munich 1972 the entire Olympic Team from Sweden wore Seger socks and they also created the classic Ingemar Stenmark beanie.

When we wanted to produce our first socks back In 1999 Seger was the first and only choice for us when we were looking for a manufacturer. We were looking for a sock with superior quality and that would last for a very long time. Now 13 years later we know that these socks got what it takes! The new delivery of SNS socks are finally here and they are good enough for a King or Queen.

Sneakersnstuff x Converse Lovikka All Star

Back in 2010 we released our first collaboration project with Converse. We created a knitted version of their classic Chuck Taylor All Star and the inspiration came from the Swedish Lovikka mitten. A mitten that a women named Erika Aittamaa began to knit a long time ago, before the Industrial Revolution, to support her family. Her mittens became very popular and today the Lovikka mitten is an iconic product in Sweden.

Our project was a tribute to Erika and her mittens. We loved it and so did the people that got their hands on pair. Actually this is the most sought after sneaker that we've released and people have been asking for it since the first release. You could say that there was a public demand on a second drop of this project. So the saga continues, the Sneakersnstuff x Converse Lovikka All Star is back in a new colorway!

Almost everything is the same, the iconic mitten design is translated onto the vintage specialty Chuck Taylor sole, the accent embroidery and crafted details is there, the red/yellow/blue printed pinstripe on the midsole is there and the signature Lovikka tassel on the heel-stay is of course there! The only thing that we changed this time is the color, instead of off-white wool upper we went for an grey melange upper.

The Sneakersnstuff x Converse Lovikka All Star launches December 13th at all Sneakersnstuff stores at 11.00 CET and online one hour later, 12.00 CET at Sneakersnstuff.com.

Meeting with Puma

Last week we went down to Helsingborg to visit our friends at Puma to look at the Autumn/Winter 13 collection. Our man Johan took good care of us and of course took us to our favorite lunch restaurant called Nils H. where we always eat Äggakaga (google it). Thanks for a great day Johan and the rest of the team!

New Black x Ayla - Episode 3 feat. Carlito

Ayla is a crew consisting of rappers Stor and Carlito, rap duo Mohammed Ali and producer Mack Beats. The crew came together in Visättra outside of Stockholm back in 2007, and since then the members have become some of Sweden’s most interesting artists.

Ayla and streetwear label New Black teamed up to design a limited crewneck. The sweatshirt comes in two different colorways and will be sold at Sneakersnstuff and newblack.se starting December 16.

In an exclusive four episode web series we get to follow hip-hop collective Ayla and its members in their everyday life. The third episode spotlights rapper Carlito who recently released the single ”Krigarsjäl” (Redline Recordings / Universal) and who will release an album with the same name in 2013.

Recap: Sneakersnstuff x adidas ZX 700 release party

We had a party together with adidas Originals last friday to celebrate the release of the adidas Originals Consortium Women's Collection and the Sneakersnstuff x adidas ZX 700 Wmns that we designed for this pack. People were dancing, the drinks were floading, Julia Spada and Saturday, Monday was awesome and our shoe display looked fantastic. Thanks to everyone that came by!
