Sneakersnstuff in Gothenburg - Day 1

We're back on the road again. Charlie, Erik, Peter and I (Johan) took the train down to Gothenburg for some meetings. First day we had meetings with Jonas from Vans and Janne from New Balance. Both collections for SS12 looks very good and New Balance have some really, really interesting stuff coming out. More on that later! Check out the pics from the first day here.

 Time to leave for Gothenburg.

Always on Twitter.

After some delays we're finally in Gothenburg.

First we had lunch with Ante from Swedun. Ante is the guy that sells Diamond Supply in Sweden. Good guy!

Summertime!

Supra Summer Solstice Pack

Celebrating Summer Solstice or Midsummer (Midsommar in swedish) is something we swedes have been doing as long as we can remember. Its not just a celebration of the longest day of the year, we´re talking old school here. In fact the Midsummer festivities is something we´ve been doing long before Christianity. The Scandinavian Midsummer traditions stem from pagan times, showing the defeat of darkness to the powers of the sun god. Midsummer was originally a fertility festival with many customs and rituals associated with nature and with the hope for a good harvest the coming fall. Midsummer is a national holiday in Sweden so if you´re planning on going to Sweden during Midsummer (this year Midsummer will take place 24th-25th of June), you´d better ask someone where to go because most, if not everything, will be closed. (Sneakersnstuff.com is open 24/7 so you can always visit us)

Just in time for the festivities we´d like to present the Supra Summer Solstice Pack, two versions of Terry Kennedy´s signature kicks: the Society Mid, each strictly limited to 413 pairs and sequentially numbered. The first is Sky Blue with Sunshine Yellow accents, representative of the longest day of the year. The second is Midnight Blue with Dusk Grey accents, representative of the night that inevitably follows. Both versions have been executed in brilliant kid-skin leather and come with a custom hang-tag. Kid-skin is the skin from a young goat and its lighter, stronger and therefore more flexible than for example calfskin.

Launching globally June 18th at only a handful of selected stores, Sneakersnstuff Stockholm is proud to be the one and only store in Scandinavia to carry the Supra Summer Solstice Pack.

Another great reason to visit Sneakersnstuff Stockholm this Saturday! .

Retail price: 999 kr / 110 Euros

Air Jordan 7 Cardinal

As if the release of our collaboration with ASICS wasn´t reason enough to come visit us this Saturday we will also release the retro version of the Air Jordan 7 in White/Bronze-Cardinal Red-Black the very same day.

Sneakersnstuff x ASICS GT-II

ASICS joins forces with Sneakersnstuff to create a runestone-inspired
sneaker.

Sneakersnstuff from Stockholm has dominated the Scandinavian sneaker scene
since 1999. Over the years, they've worked closely with several major brands to
come up with new collaborative models. Now for the first time, they've teamed up
with ASICS to create the ASICS GT-II Stone/Stone, an exciting shoe which
brings together Japanese and Swedish design.

The shoe is inspired by the runestones erected by the Vikings all over
The Mälaren Valley in Sweden in the fourth century. The Vikings used these
stones to mark out their territory and honour their families, and they were
regarded as symbols of power and glory. The founders of Sneakersnstuff grew
up in this region, and therefore have a strong affinity with these runestones.

Sneakersnstuff chose to restyle the GT-II, as it has been the founders’ favourite
model ever since it was first launched back in 1986. The GT-II was the first ever
running shoe to feature ASICS’ innovative GEL technology for maximum shock
absorption, comfort and performance. The new collaborative design features
colours taken from original runestones, while the material itself also has a stonelike
finish. However, what makes this model particularly unique is the rune-style
lettering running along the iconic ASICS stripes.

The ASICS GT-II Stone/Stone will be available from June 18th at Sneakersnstuff Stockholm, Sneakersnstuff Malmö and online at Sneakersnstuff.com.

The ASICS GT-II will be released instore at 11.00 (CEST) and online 17.00 (CEST) and will be available from size US 4-US 13.

Retail price: 1199 SEK / 130 Euros

Sneakersnstuff in Herzogenaurach - Day 3

Kalle from adidas picked us up for another exciting day. First stop was the original adidas office in Herzogenaurach and the name of the place - Adi Dassler Platz of course! Living legend Markus Thaler and his colleague Olga showed us the Prototype Center. The Prototype Center is the heart and soul of adidas, here's where the designer's get their very first samples made.

Markus Thaler has been with adidas for almost 45 years now. He started at adidas when he was 14 years old and he is one of very few people that is still alive that actually worked alongside the great Adi Dassler himself. Erik and Peter met Markus Thaler a few years ago when they designed the adidas x Sneakersnstuff ZX 450 for the aZX collection. A part from the original ZX series Markus Thaler has been involved in so many different products. For example the man actually did the adidas Gazelle (!).

After two very educating hours we went back to the adidas World of Sports and the Brand Center for a an in-depth presentation of what's about to come. Before we went home we also popped by the adidas Originals containers, the home of the Originals team (thanks for the tour Jossan!).

A big thank you to everybody that took care of us these days. We had a great time - it was awesome!

 Hello Jossan!

 Hello Christian!

Good bye Germany - see you soon.

This is kind of a funny picture. The lovely couple in the front with the banner behind them. But remember one thing. Don't smoke!
